#ThankYouLiger

As of January 5th, 2020. Keiichi Yamada, better known in the pro-wrestling world as Jushin 'Thunder' Liger, has officially retired from pro-wrestling after a 36-year career. This image features Liger with Go Nagai, who created the anime series that inspired the wrestling character, giving him flowers. Nagai has given Yamada his blessing in retaining the Liger name and costume post-wrestling career.

Over the course of 36-years, Liger is one of the most revered wrestlers for New Japan Pro Wrestling and beyond. American wrestling fans will remember his time in WCW where he feuded with Brian Pillman, Juventud Guerrera, Chris Benoit, and Rey Mysterio. In 2015, Liger made his one and only WWE match at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn, defeating Tyler Breeze. Liger's last match was at New Japan's Wrestle Kingdom 14 in a tag-team match with former rival Naoki Sano where they lost against Hiromu Takahashi and Ryu Lee.
