In an interview with Bleeding Cool, Chloe Bennet (real name Chloe Wang), who plays Daisy Johnson aka Skye on Agents of SHIELD, gives her insight as to the division between Marvel Films and Marvel TV, and the lack of connection between the two. I'm not really that surprised, honestly. But it's easier to simply declare SHIELD and the Defenders as being set in an alternate universe, and if a connection is to be made, it's through Infinity War.
