According to one who claims to have visited this year's Licensing Expo, rumors of several movie studios, namely Fox and Warner Bros, wrestling over the rights to One Punch Man to be adapted to a movie, seeing it as a potential competitor to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
In addition to OPM, the upcoming Ghost in The Shell movie starring Scarlett Johansson will be treated similarly to the movie Edge of Tomorrow (based on the manga All You Need is Kill) starring Tom Cruise. So Johansson's character, based on Motoko Kusanagi, will be simply named "The Major". Furthermore, the plot of GiTS will be loosely based on the Stand Alone Complex TV series.
