Personally, I'm not surprised. Other than a few cameos, we never get any indication this series is going to the incredibly long Millennium Falcon Arc. I would suspect that unless Miura finishes the current arc of the manga, no sense animating the Millennium Falcon Arc.
FYI, Berserk is an ongoing manga series by Kentaro Miura about Guts, a former mercenary who is forever haunted by demons who want him dead and eaten. Wielding with a giant sword, Guts battles these demons as well as hunting down the man who made him that way in the first place.
