A Gritty Scooby-Doo in Comics

Entertainment Weekly reported that DC will publish a series of new titles based on Hanna-Barbera, with acclaimed writer/artist Jim Lee handling Scooby-Doo among others.

Not too surprised at this mainly because Hanna-Barbera and DC are under the WB banner, which is why we have shows like Teen Titans GO on Cartoon Network, and a handful of Hanna-Barbera characters making appearances on DC comics/shows. Another good thing when it comes to comics is that you can change the tone and scenery of the content to almost anything you like and rarely get flak for it.

As an example, the characters from the Archue Comics line have been killed off in more ways than one. Some more gruesome than others. And we're talking young, innocent teens here like Betty and Jughead.

This is also DC's attempt to find a way to overthrow Marvel, who has been dominating comic book sales by a huge margin for most of 2015. DC's "The Dark Knight 3" was the only DC comic that went Number 1 in all comic book sales and in the month of November.
